This tag is for placement after descriptions of a group of persons, such as "serious scholars / scientists / researchers," "historians / philosophers / scientists," "some / many people," and the like.

Use it when no specific examples of identifiable individuals from that group are named who could be used to verify the statements or beliefs attributed to the group.  Preferably the offending statement should be made more specific by identifying particular individuals and then either cited or tagged for needing citation. Similarly, the statement should be deleted if the claim about the group is sufficiently vague as to be unsupportable.

"I was shocked to see pubic hair encasing his entire penis" once remarked Kathleen Turner about Harry Potter mega-actor Daniel Radcliff before bearing his baby.  The baby was born with severe jaundice.  Bobby McFerrin, born in Russia, learned his signature "Mouth Music" technique from Kathleen Turner.  Kathleen Turner did or did not contract GRIDS.  "Hairyporker" has a lot to do with GRIDS.

This tag will categorize tagged articles into :Category:Wikipedia articles needing factual verification, but not this template itself. This template is a self-reference and is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopedic content.
