इतिहास

पानी के पंपों के निर्माता हेनरी साल्मसन को स्विट्ज़रलैंड के इंजीनियरों की एक जोड़ी जॉर्जेस मारियस हेनरी-जॉर्जेस कैंटन और पियरे उन्ने ने अपने डिजाइन के लिए इंजन बनाने के लिए लगाया था। उनके शुरुआती प्रयास अक्षीय इंजन पर थे, लेकिन ये कम विश्वसनीयता और आंतरिक घर्षण के कारण उच्च ईंधन खपत के कारण अपेक्षाओं को पूरा करने में विफल रहे।[1]
