Summary

Description
English: The video of an experiment showing vacuum fluctuations amplified by spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC). A blue laser is used as the pump, and it is visible on the left. The red ring is generated by SPDC. Small fluctuations in the blue spot are due to camera noise, whereas much more pronounced fluctuations in the red ring (especially visible in the dimmer part of the ring) are amplified vacuum fluctuations, as predicted by the theory of SPDC.
