title defaults to the name of the Wikipedia article, so {{MacTutor|id=Newton}} yields

date date of the article. For example, {{MacTutor|id=Luke|title=Yudell Luke|date=October 1998}} yields

class can be used to indicate other non-biography pages in MacTutor, so {{MacTutor|class=HistTopics|id=Topology_in_mathematics|title=A history of Topology}} yields

last, first,...,last4, first4 parameters can be used to indicate up to four authors different from the default ones, so {{MacTutor|first=Umberto|last=Lucia|id=Morera|title=Giacinto Morera|date= March 2006}} yields

class can also be used jointly with last and first to indicate other non-biography pages in MacTutor, so {{MacTutor|first=Umberto|last=Lucia|class=Extras|id=Morera_Publications|title=Publications of Giacinto Morera|date=March 2006}} yields

authorX-link can be used when author parameters lastX and firstX are given, in order to insert a link to the Wikipedia article on the specified author, so {{MacTutor|first=Vladimir G.|last=Maz'ya|author-link=Vladimir Maz'ya|first2=Tatyana O.|last2=Shaposhnikova|author2-link=Tatyana Shaposhnikova|first3=Daniele|last3=Tampieri|id=Mikhlin|title=Solomon Grigoryevich Mikhlin|date=March 2011}} yields

As of 4 July 2021, {{MacTutor}} is a template wrapper around {{Citation}}, and thus any parameters of {{Citation}} may be used. In particular, |mode=cs1 may be used to have the citation render in Citation Style 1 rather than Citation Style 2, as in the following example:
