Template:Multiref
From Vigyanwiki
{{multiref}} creates a list of items from its parameters, and is intended to be used to create a list of sources as a single footnoted item. The first parameter is rendered on the initial line of the footnote following the footnote number and the backlink(s), and up to fourteen subsequent parameters are rendered as separate list items below that.
Multiref is intended to be used with shortened references. It is possible to insert full references in multiref, including cite templates, if desired but this may not be so useful. Text notes can be inserted in any of the fields for various purposes, some of which are shown in the examples.

One source citing another. This is where the editor cannot, or has not, accessed the source verifying the claim, but instead has cited a second source providing a quote from the first source. Using multiref makes it clear that there are two relevant items in the bibliography. |

Explanatory note One possible reason for adding an explanatory note is to make it clear that the citation leads to an example of the claimed fact, not to verification of the claim itself which may be in a later cite |
